The second edition of Ségou’Art was held from 02 to 09 February in Mali. This exhibition aimed to allow gallery owners, collectors and art professionals to discover the new faces of contemporary African creation. For the 2019 edition, Abdoulaye Konaté from Mali was the key figure and guest. Ségou Art is a seven components exhibition including the exhibition of senior artists. Côte d’Ivoire was validly represented by Valérie Oka.

OKA VALERY
Valérie Oka is now a key model in the contemporary art scene from Africa. She won several prizes, including the 1st Prize of the European Union at the Dakar Biennial. Her works are present in private collections and in those of several foundations and museums (Blachère Foundation, Frances Foundation, Lettera Foundation27, Moleskine, WIEL, …).
In 2016, following the success of her exhibitions in Belgium, France, and Sweden, Valérie Oka is the 3rd best African artist of contemporary art by INTO THE CHIC of Jeune Afrique. In 2018, she is named among the most influential women of Côte d’Ivoire. According to Professor Yacouba Konaté, she is « certainly a leading figure and accelerator of the art movement in our region »
