The organizing committee of the Market for Arts and Entertainment in Abidjan (MASA) unveiled the mascot of the twelfth edition during the launch. It is official. MASA will indeed take place from 5 to 12 March 2022 in Abidjan. And it is through the presentation of the mascot that the organizing committee launched the effective start of activities of the 12th edition of the Market for Arts and Entertainment in Abidjan. The official launch took place this Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in the presence of government and diplomatic authorities.
A mascot named the Tam-Tam
It is through a choreography well orchestrated by craftsmen that the mascot was unveiled. Tam-Tam is the most practical name used and which the mascot has taken the form. For Guy Konan, graphic designer by training and designer of this manufacture, the Tam-Tam is the instrument that brings together. « I sought a figure that federates the maximum of African tribes. Given that the Tam-Tam is the instrument that brings together the most Africans, which is why I chose. »
I gave myself the means to realize it
A music of one minute and 58 seconds, the song represents a mixture of African and world music concocted by the artist for the pleasure of festival-goers.
« It is not easy to gather all the music of the world and put them on a support, it was not too difficult because having already worked several times at MASA, I saw a little what the team wanted and I gave myself the means to achieve it, « explained the artist to the microphone of host Mariam Coulibaly.
In addition, some of the Ivorian artists selected in the disciplines of storytelling, slam, music were converted for the occasion in model.
Awareness campaign soon in the interior of the country
To ensure the success of this event, MASA’s Director General Patrick Hervé Yapi has unveiled what is planned after the launch. To this end, an information tour will take place in the different cities of the country.

Côte d’Ivoire organizer of Masa recorded 98 artists and artistic groups for this edition. The director also stressed that the talent has been put in the selection criteria. The theme of this twelfth edition is: The cultural and creative industries: the challenge of content.
