The group  »   Cheickné Somane 5 Tamans   was created in 2010 by   Cheickné Sissoko , player of   taman   and representative of the 7th generation taman players of his family. This sacred instrument is transmitted to him by his ancestors from the empire of Wagadou to the court of the Cisse, he is also the object of the counselor and messenger of the king griot.

Composed of 5 artists, the band handles with power the Tamans, Djeli N’goni, Balafon, Calabash, Yabara and Chant, a set of traditional instruments for a resolutely modern sound result.

Since its creation,   «Cheickné Somane 5 Tamans»   has participated in all major Malian festivals, many times even for many of them (Festival on Niger, Theater Festival of Realities, International Festival of Tamani Gold, International Festival of Cauris Mandé, for the most famous ). In 2016, the group is invited to open the famous Ivorian festival on  MASA, the African Arts and Entertainment Market in Abidjan, and begins a European career. We will see it for example at Eurockéennes de Belfort and at the Roskilde Festival.
