Arterial Network : Call for applications for the Cultural Management Training Program

TRAINING PROGRAM IN CULTURAL MANAGEMENT

One of the objectives of the Arterial Network is to strengthen the capacities of actors of the cultural industry in Africa through structuring, practical and effective programs that focus on specific cultural management skills.

Since 2016, Arterial Network has put in place new methods and tools required for the professionalization and development of the arts and culture sectors in Africa.

In this same dynamic that we are launching this new call for candidates for administrators, managers, cultural mediators and, together with our strategic partner, the Arts Market for the African Spectacle (MASA) and all those wishing to convert into the management, production, publishing and distribution of cultural products and services.

This training aims to train participants in the management of artistic projects in all its dimensions in order to make them operational in the orientation, management and multidimensional development of the project.

The specific objectives are to help participants to:

  • Learning how to organize teamwork, networking, and driving the implementation of partnerships;
  • Address the principles of good and transparent governance of cultural projects;
  • Strengthen and broaden their management skills and acquire tools for managing cultural projects by striking a balance between artistic, political and economic parameters;
  • Accompany, develop and / or manage one or more artistic projects
  • Make the most of the digital tool to promote access to cultural resources and pave the way for new forms of artistic practice and mediation;
  • Prepare a budget forecast, and master the management and budgetary monitoring and evaluation of a cultural project;
  • Develop partnerships and funding for a cultural project.

This training will combine management concepts and tools with professional practices and cultural facts. While offering an interactive space for learning and exchanges, it will draw on the skills and specificities of the participants. The training will mainly involve experts in the fields of culture, development and private companies known for their success in Africa and elsewhere. It will be implemented following the new concept of Arterial Network’s creative collaborations and the regional training hubs identified by the organization in its strategic plan.
