MASA 2016 closed on Saturday, March 12, 2016 after a week of performance. In addition to a delegation of the National Assembly representatives who came on behalf of the President of the National Assembly, M. Guillaume SORO, a large audience participated to the ceremony.
According to the Director of the MASA, Pr. Yacouba KONATE, the public interest into the MASA is real because « MASA has an economic, social and cultural impact on people life». The success of MASA stands as an evidence that Côte d’Ivoire has the potential to organize important events. Then he thanked the artists and partners for their support.
Ms. Youma FALL, Director of Diversity and Cultural Development at the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), congratulated the MASA for the quality and the diversity of the artists selected.
The Minister of Culture and Francophonie, Mr. Maurice Kouakou Bandaman, addressed a special thank message to the public who came massively to the closing ceremony.
A lot of musicians performed at the event. A fashion show was also organized to entertain the public.
The comedians received their certificates from Mr. Maurice Kouakou Bandaman, Ms. Youma Fall, M. Privat OULA, and Pr. Yacouba Konaté.
A tribute was paid to Mr. Ismaël Diaby, who suddenly passed a week before the beginning of the MASA. A prize in his memory was created by the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF). A technician working at the National Television won the prize for this first edition.
The next edition will be organized in 2018.
